How We Support Royal Papworth Hospital

Royal Papworth Charity provides vital funding for projects across the hospital 'to bring tomorrow's treatments to today's patients.'

The Charity’s vision prioritises the need for funding today to realise the potential of tomorrow for the benefit of Royal Papworth patients, now and in the future, specifically to:

  • address the needs of the Hospital today
  • prioritise today’s patients for tomorrow’s healthcare system
  • develop tomorrow’s medicine today
  • educate tomorrow’s workforce today
  • invest in tomorrow’s innovation

Royal Papworth Hospital treats some of the most life threatening conditions affecting people today and the grants provided by Royal Papworth Charity help to ensure the hospital is able to remain at the forefront of heart and lung disease research internationally.

Only together can we make a difference

With the generosity of our supporters Royal Papworth Charity ensures the very best facilities, services and equipment is available for you, your family, your friends and our staff.

Recent projects which have received funding from Royal Papworth Charity have included:

The Heart and Lung Research Institute - £5 Million

The HLRI will create the largest cardiothoracic centre for research, education, industry collaboration, and clinical care in Europe. Royal Papworth Charity has committed £5 million to the build, and is managing a capital appeal to support this target.

Critical Care Psychological Wellbeing Services - £109,000

Royal Papworth Charity has funded additional expertise and resources to facilitate the integration of a Psychological Wellbeing Service to benefit staff, patients and their relatives.

Echocardiogram "echo" - £54,000

Royal Papworth Charity has funded an additional Echo machine in order to support the Cardiac team when they respond and react to emergencies in the cath lab. This funding will minimise delays caused by waiting for an ECHO machine to arrive and provide better care for our patients.

Your continued support enables us to provide the vital funding to that helps to keep Royal Papworth Hospital at the forefront of heart and lung medicine internationally.
